Obstacles facing working mothers in the process of social construction
A field study for workers in the government sector in the central region of the Emirate of Sharjah

This study aimed to analyze the challenges facing working mothers in the government sector in the central region of Sharjah, and the impact of these challenges on the socialization process of children. The study relied on a descriptive analytical approach, and data was collected using a group interview tool, based on the theoretical framework of functional constructivism. The results showed that working mothers are able to balance their work and educational responsibilities if they have familial, social, and organizational support. The results also revealed that professional and organizational challenges, such as weak institutional commitment, stressful work hours, and limited institutional support, affect, to varying degrees, a mother's ability to fulfill her educational role. The study presented a set of practical proposals that could contribute to mitigating these challenges, such as reducing working hours, strengthening the role of institutional incubators, increasing community awareness of the importance of women's work, and supporting awareness and guidance programs. The study emphasizes that working mothers do not fundamentally conflict with the educational process; rather, the desired balance can be achieved through planning and institutional and societal support.
