The detergent and disinfectant industry is a chemical processing industry of strategic importance, due to its effective role in supporting the local economy and meeting public health requirements, especially in light of increasing health and environmental challenges.
Therefore, in this research, we have identified the most important problems impeding its production process and how to address them. We seek to develop this industry through the use of modern machinery and equipment. Therefore, we have addressed the most important problems arising from the detergent and disinfectant industry in Baghdad Governorate. The research consists of two axes: the first includes human factors and ways to address them, while the second includes economic factors and ways to address them. The study concluded that a multi-level development vision must be adopted, including the preparation of short-, medium-, and long-term plans aimed at rehabilitating the industrial infrastructure, stimulating local and foreign investment, and developing the skills of the workforce. This will contribute to enhancing the industry's contribution to the gross domestic product and achieving health and economic security simultaneously.
