Objectives: This study aims to explore the structural interplay between the themes of love and praise in the poem “In Any Case, I Have No Inclination Away from You” by Ibn Sanaa Al-Mulk, through a structuralist approach that analyzes the text internally across its linguistic layers, without reference to external contexts or authorial intention.
Methods: The research employs the structuralist analytical method. The poem was divided into two major structural domains (love and praise), and these domains were examined across phonological (rhythm, paronomasia, rhyme), syntactic (parallelism, repetition, coordination, conditionality), and semantic levels (antithesis, gradation, paradox, symbolic imagery).
Results:. The analysis reveals that the poem is built on a precise interweaving of amorous and laudatory structures, and that the textual unity is not disrupted by multiplicity of themes. Rather, it is reinforced through intricate internal patterns of repetition, structural harmony, and semantic coherence. The structural composition plays a fundamental role in generating meaning and emotional resonance.
Conclusions: This structuralist reading demonstrates the efficacy of applying structural analysis to classical Arabic poetry, uncovering its internal coherence and artistic design. The poem serves as evidence that texts combining emotional and political themes can produce a unified poetic structure beyond traditional genre classification.
