الشكل المثمن في العمارة العربية الإسلامية

إن الشكل المثمن تميز بالخصائص الشكلية لأنماط وظيفية سواء في العمارة الاسلامية او تخطيط المدن الاسلامية كونه نمط كانت بداية في العصر الاسلامي، إذْ يلاحظ ان اضلاع الشكل المثمن لها القدرة على التنظيم الفضائي بتحقيق سلسلة من التدرج العماري المتتابع التي تتماشى مع طبيعة المبنى وبالتالي زاد في الخصوصية واكسب المبنى والمدينة اهمية عمارية جعلتهما مختلفتان عن بقية العمارة الاسلامية .
