استهدف البحث الحالي التعرف على قياس تعقيد الهوية الاجتماعية (The complexity of social identity) لدى طلبة الجامعة، تبعاً لمتغيري الجنس (ذكور، إناث)، والقومية (العربية، والكردية، والتركمانية)، وتعرف الفروق في تعقيد الهوية الاجتماعية وفق متغيري (الجنس، والقومية) لدى طلبة الجامعة، ولتحقيق اهداف البحث، قام الباحثان بأعداد مقياس تعقيد الهوية الاجتماعية على وفق نظرية (Roccas & Brewer, 2002)، وقد تم اختيار عينة البحث من (8) كليات في الكليات الصباحية الحكومية، للعام الدراسي(2023-2024)، ومن (3) جامعات (بغداد والقادسية ممثلة للقومية العربية، وكركوك ممثلة للقومية الكردية والتركمانية)، إذ تم اختيار عينة البحث من تلك الجامعات بطريقة العينة العشوائية البسيطة المتساوية، وبواقع (600) طالب وطالبة، وبواقع (200) طالب وطالبة لكل قومية، ومن ثم استخرج الباحث الخصائص السايكومترية للمقياس من صدق وثبات من خلال إيجاد القوة التميزية لكل فقرة من فقرات المقياس وإيجاد علاقة الفقرة بالمجال وعلاقة الفقرة بالدرجة الكلية للمقياس، كما استخرج الثبات بطريقتي ألفا كرونباخ وإعادة الاختبار، وكان ثبات المقياس بطريقة إعادة الاختبار(0.74)، وبطريقة ألفا كرونباخ (0.78)، وبعد معالجة البيانات إحصائياً عن طريق الحقيبة الإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية (SPSS) وبرنامج (AMOS) لغرض استخراج النتائج، توصل الباحثان إلى النتائج الآتية: إن عينة البحث لديهم تعقيد الهوية الاجتماعية، وأنه ليس هناك فرق دال إحصائياً في تعقيد الهوية الاجتماعية تبعاً لمتغير الجنس، وأن هناك فرق دال إحصائياً في تعقيد الهوية الاجتماعية تبعاً لمتغير والقومية ولصالح القومية الكردية، وقد خرج الباحثان بمجموعة من التوصيات والمقترحات.
