The research topic focused on the water requirements of winter crops (wheat, barley, clover, cauliflower) in Al-Suwaira district. The water consumption values of winter crops in the study area were reached by applying the Penman Monteith equation and the (CROPWAT) program. The average water consumption values for wheat crops during the growing season, which extends from November to the end of April, amounted to (75.8) mm. The highest water consumption values at Al-Aziziyah station reached (122) mm in March, and the lowest water consumption values at Baghdad station amounted to (34) mm in November. The average water consumption values for barley crops during the growing season, which extends from November to the end of April, amounted to (46.6) mm. The highest water consumption values at Al-Aziziyah station amounted to (108) mm in March, and the lowest water consumption value at Baghdad station amounted to (34) mm in April and November. The average water consumption values for cauliflower crops during the growing season amounted to (54.1) mm. The highest water consumption values in Al-Aziziyah station reached (114) mm in October, and the lowest water consumption value in Baghdad station reached (23) mm in December and January. The average water consumption values for the clover crop during its growing season reached (77.6) mm. The highest water consumption values in Al-Aziziyah station reached (155) mm in April, and the lowest water consumption value in Baghdad station reached (42) mm in November and December.
