Personality traits and their relation to blood types of university students according to the Freiberg scale

The purpose of the current research is to find out the relationship between blood type (A, B, AB, O) and its relation with personality traits and gender (male-female) for university students. The Freiburg scale (1984) was used which includes (8) traits after it was translated and revised. The study sample consisted of (400) male and female students continuing university study for the academic year (2016-2017) they were randomly selected. Statistical methods were used, chi-square, phi correlation coefficient, point-biserial correlation coefficient, coefficient of stability koder Richardson, T-test, binary variance analysis and Toki test for remote comparisons as statistical means, the results showed:
1- emotionality (neuroticism), aggression, pessimism concerning the future and openness traits found below average and irritability and radical attitudes traits found on average and shyness is high among the sample members.
2- the emotional neuroticism is higher in males with blood type (AB).
3- students with blood type (B) are higher in openness followed by type (A) then (O) then (AB)
4- Radical attitudes was higher in males with (AB) and (O) blood type. Females with blood type (A) and (O) have radical attitudes higher than the rest of blood types.
5- shyness was high in males with (O) blood type comparing with females and other blood types.
