Abstract

 Many democratic countries are interested in studying parliamentary and presidential elections in order to identify the levels of political participation and the pattern of voters' attitudes and the percentage of participation from one electoral cycle to another so that they can find ways and means to help improve the reality of the electoral process on the one hand and on the other hand to identify people's political preferences and mood The elections are the most advanced means of peaceful circulation of power and are the expression of the will of the members of society to choose their governors. As the electoral individual of the Iraqi during the electoral experience for the period 2014 & 2018 As well as to identify the social conditions that influenced the attitudes of the Iraqi voter between participation and reluctance and fluctuation of this participation, the study included five main topics, the most important objectives of the study was to identify the meaning of electoral behavior and trends, research into the reasons for the different participation in the Iraqi elections, and the results reached The study reference is: The existence of a significant impact of the social, economic and political conditions experienced by the country in the size of the political participation of members of the Iraqi society, which led to fluctuation in the previous electoral cycles, different preferences of the Iraqi voter for each electoral cycle according to the need for a candidate carrying the characteristics and characteristics saturated the wishes of people and able to meet Their demands and the presence of a high percentage of societal dissatisfaction due to the previous government performance contributed to a large reluctance in the elections, especially the parliamentary session of 2018.
