The impact of gender on the perceptions of workers in Sharjah Police General Directorate towards the dimensions of low self-control among perpetrators of white-collar crimes (fraud) in the UAE society

This study aimed to identify the impact of gender on the perceptions of workers in Sharjah Police General Directorate towards the dimensions of low self-control among perpetrators of white-collar crimes (fraud) in the UAE society. The size of the study sample was (293) employees from Criminal Investigations Department, Drugs Enforcement Department, and Correctional Institution Department. The percentage of males was (73.7%) and females (21.5%), and the selection was done through a non- probability purposive sample. To achieve the goals of the study, descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyses the data. Frequencies, percentages, arithmetic means and standard deviations were calculated, using (Independent Sample T Test). The results of the study revealed that: gender has an impact on the perceptions of employees of Sharjah Police General Directorate towards the dimensions of low self-control among perpetrators of white- collar crimes (fraud), according to the following dimensions: (Risk – preference for physical activities) and both dimensions were their differences in favor of males. while factors such as (recklessness and impulsivity, volatile temper, quick and easy gratification- self-centeredness) did not show statistically significant differences in the perceptions of male and female workers according to sex variable.
