تهدف هذه الدراسة الى التحليل العميق لشخصية القتلة المتسلسلين في روايات توماس هاريس والتركيز على روايته التنين الاحمر. دراسة هذه الشخصيات المركبة والمعقدة من خلال استخدام مفاهيم اريك فروم عن طبيعة النفس البشرية التدميرية وماهية العوامل المؤثرة على القتلة المتسلسلين من جميع النواحي اجتماعيا ونفسيا وبايلوجيا. توصلت هذه الدراسة الى النتائج التالية قام توماس هاريس بتصوير شخصيات القتلة المتسلسلين بصورة احترافية ومعقدة وجعل القارئ يذهب في رحلة تأملية في عقل ونفس القاتل المتسلسل ليصل بذلك لذروة الكمال الفني.
